Hadith of Abu Abi ibn Imra'ah 'Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُبِيِّ ابْنِ امْرَأَةِ عُبَادَةَ، ٢٣٨٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ أَبِي أُبَيِّ ابْنِ امْرَأَةِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ امْرَأَةِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ يَشْغَلُهُمْ أَشْيَاءُ وَيُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا، فَصَلُّوا الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، ثُمَّ اجْعَلُوا صَلَاتَكُمْ مَعَهُمْ تَطَوُّعًا " (١)، ،

It is narrated from Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Soon there will come rulers who will be engrossed in many things out of heedlessness, and they will delay the prayer from its prescribed time. On such occasions, you should perform the prayer at its prescribed time, and then join them with the intention of offering a voluntary (nafl) prayer.
