حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " - يَعْنِي اللهَ - يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الصَّوْمُ هُوَ لِي، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ "، " وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah Almighty has said, "Fasting is exclusively for Me and I Myself will give its reward. The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
