Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ، مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِمَوَالِي عَصَبَتِهِ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضِيَاعًا أَوْ كَلًّا، فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُ فَلَا دَعِيَّ لَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: I have more right over the believers than their own selves, so whoever leaves behind a debt or children, it is my responsibility, and whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs.
