حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي، يُحَدِّثُنَا (٣) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " مَنِ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا، لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ زَرْعٍ، وَلَا صَيْدٍ، وَلَا مَاشِيَةٍ، فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ، ، قِيرَاطٌ "، قَالَ سُلَيْمٌ: وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَدْ قَالَ: " وَالْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting or guarding fields or herds, then every day a qirat will be deducted from his reward (and one qirat is equal to the mountain of Uhud).
