Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Protect yourselves from fasting continuously for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). The Prophet (ﷺ) said this twice. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, do you also fast continuously in this manner?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied: In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink. Therefore, do not burden yourselves with such deeds for which you do not have the strength to bear.
