حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا الْحَبَشَةُ يَلْعَبُونَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحِرَابِهِمْ، دَخَلَ عُمَرُ فَأَهْوَى إِلَى الْحَصْبَاءِ يَحْصِبُهُمْ بِهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " دَعْهُمْ يَا عُمَرُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, in the presence of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), some Abyssinians were displaying feats with spears. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and began to pick up pebbles to hit them, but the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Umar, leave them."
