حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ جَاءَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَرَفَ صَوْتَهُ، فَقَالَ: " ادْخُلْ " فَقَالَ: إِنَّ فِي الْبَيْتِ سِتْرًا فِي الْحَائِطِ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ، فَاقْطَعُوا رُءُوسَهَا، وَاجْعَلُوه (٢) بِسَاطًا أَوْ وَسَائِدَ، ، فَأَوْطَئُوهُ، فَإِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and greeted him with salam. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) recognized his voice. Jibreel (peace be upon him) submitted, "Actually, there is a curtain in the house on which a human image is made. Now you should order that the head of this image be cut off, from which two cushions may be made, which will remain lying and be trampled upon, because we do not enter any house in which there are images."
