حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ بَعْدَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ؟ قَالَ: " الصَّلَاةُ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ " قِيلَ: أَيُّ الصِّيَامِ أَفْضَلُ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَ: " شَهْرُ اللهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone asked the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), "Which prayer is the most virtuous after the obligatory prayers?" The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The prayer performed in the middle part of the night." He was asked, "After the fasts of Ramadan, which day's fast is the most virtuous?" He replied, "The month of Allah which you call Muharram (its fasts are the most virtuous)."
