حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَرْبَعٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَنْ يَدَعَهُنَّ النَّاسُ: التَّعْيِيرُ فِي الْأَحْسَابِ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ، وَالْأَنْوَاءُ، وَالْعَدْوَى (١) ، وَأَجْرَبَ بَعِيرٌ فَأَجْرَبَ مِائَةً، مَنْ أَجْرَبَ الْبَعِيرَ الْأَوَّلَ؟ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are four things from the time of ignorance that people will never abandon: finding fault in lineage, wailing over the dead, attributing rain to the stars, and considering disease to be contagious. If a camel becomes afflicted with mange and it infects a hundred other camels, then who afflicted the first camel with mange?
