Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١) : " إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ (٢) وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ " (٣)، ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ: قَالَ أَبِي: " لَمْ نَكُنْ نُكَنِّيهِ بِأَبِي الزِّنَادِ، كُنَّا نُكَنِّيهِ بِأَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu’ form that if any of you is invited to a meal and he is fasting, then he should say, "I am fasting."
