حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ، عَنْ بَرَكَةَ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَمُدُّ يَدَيْهِ، حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ " - وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ: يَعْنِي فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I once saw the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) with his hands spread in such a way that I could see the whiteness of his blessed armpits. The narrator says that this was the occasion of the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa).
