حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ (١) ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ آدَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ قَبْلَنَا، فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهَا، وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا، فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ، غَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ، وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah had made Friday obligatory upon the people before us as well, but they differed regarding it, whereas Allah guided us in this matter. Thus, now people follow us concerning this day; the day after (Saturday) is for the Jews and the day after that (Sunday) is for the Christians.
