Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفْرَةٍ سَافَرْنَاهَا، فَأَدْرَكَنَا وَقَدْ أَرْهَقَتْنَا صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ، وَنَحْنُ نَتَوَضَّأُ، فَجَعَلْنَا نَمْسَحُ عَلَى أَرْجُلِنَا، فَنَادَى (٣) بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ: " وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ، ، مِنَ النَّارِ " مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, lagged behind during a journey and reached us when the time for Asr prayer had almost ended and we were performing ablution. We began wiping over our feet, so the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, loudly said two or three times: "Woe to the heels from the fire of Hell."
