Musnad Ahmad Hadith 6802

It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that whatever he heard from the tongue of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he would write it down so that he could remember it. The people of Quraysh forbade him from this and said, "You write down everything you hear from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, even though the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is also a human being; sometimes he speaks in anger and sometimes in happiness." After what those people said, I stopped writing and mentioned this to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Write! By the One in whose hand is my soul, nothing comes out from my tongue except the truth."
