Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَطَرٌ الْوَرَّاقُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،، ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَجُوزُ طَلَاقٌ وَلَا بَيْعٌ وَلَا عِتْقٌ وَلَا وَفَاءُ نَذْرٍ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A person does not have the authority to divorce, sell, free, or fulfill a vow regarding something which he does not own (through marriage or purchase)."
