Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: "، ، جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَتَيْنِ، مَا سَمِعْتُهُ رَوَى شَيْئًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ الضَّبِّ أَوِ الْأَضُبِّ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I used to go to and come from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) for about two years, but during this period I did not hear any hadith from him except this one. Then he mentioned the hadith about the lizard.
