Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَسَاهُ حُلَّةً فَلَبِسَهَا، فَرَآهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَذَكَرَ النَّارَ، حَتَّى ذَكَرَ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا فِي إِسْبَالِ الْإِزَارِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him a silk garment, and it began to hang below his ankles. So the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke harshly about this and mentioned Hell.
