Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُضْرَبُونَ إِذَا اشْتَرَى الرَّجُلُ الطَّعَامَ جُزَافًا أَنْ يَبِيعَهُ حَتَّى يَنْقُلَهُ إِلَى رَحْلِهِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I have seen that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), people were beaten for buying grain by estimation and then selling it to someone else at the same place before taking it to their own tent.
