حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَوْ عَنْ عُمَرَ، - قَدِ اسْتَيْقَنَ نَافِعٌ الْقَائِلَ قَدِ اسْتَيْقَنْتُ أَنَّهُ أَحَدُهُمَا، وَمَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا - عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَشْتَمِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ اشْتِمَالَ الْيَهُودِ، لِيَتَوَشَّحْ، مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَوْبَانِ فَلْيَأْتَزِرْ وَلْيَرْتَدِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ ثَوْبَانِ فَلْيَأْتَزِرْ، ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ (١) " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "None of you should wrap himself in prayer like the Jews do, rather he should drape himself. The way to do this is that whoever has two garments should make one a lower garment and the other a sheet, and whoever does not have two garments but only one, should make it a lower garment and pray in it."
