حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غَزْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي دِهْقَانَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُنَاسٌ، فَدَعَا بِلَالًا بِتَمْرٍ عِنْدَهُ، فَجَاءَ بِتَمْرٍ أَنْكَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " مَا هَذَا التَّمْرُ؟ " فَقَالَ: التَّمْرُ الَّذِي كَانَ عِنْدَنَا أَبْدَلْنَا صَاعَيْنِ بِصَاعٍ، فَقَالَ: " رُدَّ عَلَيْنَا تَمْرَنَا " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once some people were sitting with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to bring the dates that he had. When he brought the dates and the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saw them, he was surprised and said: "Where did these dates come from?" Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) informed that he had given two sa’ to get one sa’ of dates. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Return the dates that were ours."
