حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيَّ إِزَارٌ يَتَقَعْقَعُ، فَقَالَ: " مَنْ هَذَا؟ " قُلْتُ: عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتَ عَبْدَ اللهِ فَارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ "، فَرَفَعْتُ إِزَارِي إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقَيْنِ " فَلَمْ تَزَلْ، ، إِزْرَتَهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that once I presented myself in the court of the Messenger of Allah, and at that time my lower garment was hanging down. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Who is this?" I replied, "Abdullah bin Umar." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If you are Abdullah, then raise your lower garment." So I raised it up to the middle of my shins. The narrator says that this remained his practice until his death.
