Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I used to sell camels in Jannat al-Baqi'. If I sold for dinars, I would take dirhams from the buyer, and if I sold for dirhams, I would take dinars from him. One day, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to ask about this issue. At that time, he (peace be upon him) was in the house of Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). I said to him, "O Messenger of Allah! Wait, I want to ask you about this issue: I sell camels in Baqi', and in exchange for one thing I take another—what do you say about this?" He (peace be upon him) said: "If it is at the current day's rate, then there is no harm, but do not separate from your companion until there remains no transaction between you and him."
