حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَنْهَى إِذَا كَانَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ، أَنْ (١) يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to forbid that when there are three people, two of them should converse secretly excluding the third.
