Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ النَّذْرَ لَا يُقَدِّمُ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُؤَخِّرُهُ، وَإِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِالنَّذْرِ (١) مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Making a vow does not bring anything forward or push anything back, but by making a vow something comes out from a miserly person.
