حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ مَقْتُولَةٍ، فَقَالَ: " مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ "، ثُمَّ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a slain woman on the day of the conquest of Makkah and said, "She was not one who fought." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the killing of women and children.
