حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ دَمِ الْبَعُوضِ؟، فَقَالَ لَهُ: ابْنُ عُمَرَ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ: أَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ قَالَ: انْظُرُوا إِلَى هَذَا يَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ دَمِ الْبَعُوضِ، وَقَدْ قَتَلُوا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " هُمَا رَيْحَانَتِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
(Marfu‘ hadith) Suraij narrated to us, Mahdi narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Ya‘qub, from Ibn Abi Nu‘m, who said: I was sitting with Ibn ‘Umar, when a man came to him asking about the blood of mosquitoes! So Ibn ‘Umar said to him: "Where are you from?" He said: "I am from the people of Iraq." He said: "Look at this one, he asks me about the blood of mosquitoes, while they have killed the son of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! And I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'They are my two sweet basils from this world.'"
