حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ لِغَيْرِ الْقِبْلَةِ تَطَوُّعًا، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؟ قَالَ: " كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Sa’d (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he saw Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performing voluntary prayers on his mount, regardless of which direction it was facing. He once asked him about this, so he replied that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do the same.
