English translation
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once he heard Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that the Prophet (ﷺ) declared nabidh (fermented drink) made in earthenware jars to be forbidden. I went to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said to him, "Are you not surprised at Abu Abdur Rahman? He thinks that the Prophet (ﷺ) declared nabidh made in earthenware jars to be forbidden." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "He spoke the truth, the Prophet (ﷺ) declared it forbidden." I asked, "What is meant by 'earthenware jar'?" He replied: "Anything that is made from baked clay."
