Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) made this supplication at the beginning of Islam: "O Allah! Grant strength to Islam through one of these two men—Abu Jahl or Umar bin Khattab—whichever of them is more beloved to You." (Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, accepted Islam.) It is thus known that Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was more beloved in the sight of Allah.
