قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَقْبَلَ فُرْضَتَيِ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي قِبَلَ الْكَعْبَةِ، فَجَعَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ الَّذِي بُنِيَ (١) يَمِينًا، وَالْمَسْجِدُ بِطَرَفِ الْأَكَمَةِ، وَمُصَلَّى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْفَلُ مِنْهُ، عَلَى الْأَكَمَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ، يَدَعُ مِنَ الْأَكَمَةِ عَشْرَ أَذْرُعٍ أَوْ نَحْوَهَا، (٢) ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْفُرْضَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) faced both parts of that long mountain (which is in front of the Ka'bah), kept the mosque built there—which is on one side of the mound—on his right hand, and the place where the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed was just below it on the black mound. The Prophet (ﷺ) stood leaving about ten yards or so from the mound, and he would pray facing those two parts which were between the Prophet (ﷺ) and the Ka'bah in that long mountain.
