حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ،، ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: أَسْلَمَ غَيْلَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الثَّقَفِيُّ وَتَحْتَهُ عَشَرُ نِسْوَةٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَأَسْلَمْنَ مَعَهُ " فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَخْتَارَ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Ghailan bin Salamah Thaqafi accepted Islam, he had ten wives in his marriage, and all of them also accepted Islam along with him. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: "Select four of them (and divorce the remaining six)."
