حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: نَادَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ وَأَنَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْبَدَوِيِّ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ، ، اللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَ: " مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَوَاحِدَةً، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْغَدَاةِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a Bedouin asked the Prophet (ﷺ): "At that time, I was between the Prophet (ﷺ) and that Bedouin." O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us regarding the night prayer? He said: "You should pray in sets of two rak'ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak'ah to those two, and perform two rak'ahs before Fajr."
