حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فِي الْمُصَلَّى فِي الْفِطْرِ، وَإِلَى جَنْبِهِ ابْنٌ لَهُ، فَقَالَ لِابْنِهِ: هَلْ تَدْرِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي، ، قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Rafi’ Hadrami (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I saw Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) at the Eidgah on the day of Eid al-Fitr. On one side of him was his son. He said to his son, “Do you know what the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do on this day?” He replied, “I do not know.” Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform the prayer before the sermon.”
