حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ اخْتَصَمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُدَّعِيَ الْبَيِّنَةَ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بَيِّنَةٌ، فَاسْتَحْلَفَ الْمَطْلُوبَ، فَحَلَفَ بِاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنْتَ (٣) قَدْ فَعَلْتَ، وَلَكِنْ غُفِرَ لَكَ (٤) بِإِخْلَاصِكَ قَوْلَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ " (٥)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that two men brought their dispute to the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) asked the claimant for witnesses, but he had no witnesses. Therefore, the Prophet (ﷺ) demanded an oath from the defendant. He swore an oath saying: "By Allah, besides whom there is no deity." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You have sworn the oath, but due to the sincerity in your saying «لا اله الا الله», all your sins have been forgiven."
