حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى، الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْمُنْفِقَةُ، وَالْيَدُ السُّفْلَى السَّائِلَةُ " (١)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand means the one who gives, and the lower hand means the one who asks."
