حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to raise his hands to the level of his shoulders at the beginning of the prayer, and he would also raise his hands when going into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing, but between the two prostrations the Prophet (ﷺ) did not raise his hands.
