Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the night prayer. At that time, I was between the Prophet (ﷺ) and the questioner. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You should pray two rak'ahs at a time, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak'ah as witr to those two." A year later, that man again came to the Prophet (ﷺ); this time too, I was between the Prophet (ﷺ) and him. He asked the same question, and the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him the same answer.
