Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، وَابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: " رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُضْرَبُونَ إِذَا تَبَايَعُوا (١) طَعَامًا جُزَافًا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ حَتَّى يُؤْوُوهُ إِلَى رِحَالِهِمْ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): I have seen that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), people were beaten for buying grain by estimation and then selling it to someone else while still standing at the same place, until they had taken it to their own tent.
