حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا الْأَزْدِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى "، وَكَانَ شُعْبَةُ يَفْرَقُهُ (٤)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The voluntary prayers of the night and day are (to be offered) two by two (rak‘ahs)."
