English translation
Abdur Rahman bin Sa’d (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I had the companionship of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) from Madinah to Makkah. He began to pray on his mount at a corner of Makkah. I said to Salim, “If his face was towards Madinah, how would he pray?” Salim said, “You should ask him yourself.” So I asked him, and he replied, “Yes, I would pray in the same way here and there as well, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did the same.”
