Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: " وَمَنْ صَلَّى مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيَجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ وِتْرًا، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ (١) بِذَلِكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whoever prays at the beginning of the night should make his last prayer of the night the Witr, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to instruct this.
