Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said regarding the night prayer: "You should pray in sets of two rak'ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak'ah as witr to those two."
