Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) came to Makkah with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) reciting the Talbiyah for Hajj. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said to them: "Whoever wishes, may convert this Ihram into the Ihram of Umrah, except for the one who has a sacrificial animal with him." The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we go to the plain of Mina in such a state that drops of the water of life (i.e., semen) are dripping from our private parts?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Yes!" Then incense burners began to emit fragrance. Meanwhile, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived from Yemen. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "With what intention did you assume Ihram?" He replied, "With the intention that whatever Ihram the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) has, that is my Ihram as well." Ruh says further that we have your sacrificial animals with us. Humaid says, "I narrated this hadith to Tawus, and he said, 'The people did the same.'" And Affan says that further on it is mentioned: "Make it the Ihram of Umrah."
