حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعُمَرِيُّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَخَّصَ لِلنِّسَاءِ أَنْ يُرْخِينَ شِبْرًا ". فَقُلْنَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِذَنْ تَنْكَشِفَ أَقْدَامُنَا، فَقَالَ: " ذِرَاعًا وَلَا تَزِدْنَ عَلَيْهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) permitted women to raise their garment by one handspan. They said, "In that case, our feet will become visible?" The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Do not add more than one handspan (this much is excused)."
