حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ (١) بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُطَارِدٍ أَبِي الْبَزَرَى السَّدُوسِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: " كُنَّا نَشْرَبُ وَنَحْنُ قِيَامٌ، وَنَأْكُلُ وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), we used to drink water while standing and eat food while walking (because, due to the preoccupation with jihad, where was there time for eating and drinking?).
