Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعَ عَمْرٌو، ابْنَ عُمَرَ،، ، كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ، وَلَا نَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا حَتَّى زَعَمَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ: (١) " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ فَتَرَكْنَاهُ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we used to give land on sharecropping and did not consider there to be any harm in it. Later, Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) informed us that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade this, so we abandoned it.
