Musnad Ahmad Hadith 4568

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) went to the mosque of Banu Amr bin Awf, that is, the Mosque of Quba, to perform prayer. There, some Ansari companions came to greet the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) was with them. I asked Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was greeted, how did he reply? He said: He would gesture with his hand. Sufyan says: I said to a man, "Ask Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him), did you hear this narration directly from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)?" I was too awed to ask myself, so that man asked him, "O Abu Usamah! Did you hear this narration directly from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)?" He replied: "I have seen him and have also spoken with him."
