حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يُبَايِعُ عَلَى السَّمْعِ، وَالطَّاعَةِ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: فَيُلَقِّنُ أَحَدَنَا: " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " (١)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) used to take allegiance on the condition of listening and obeying, then he would say: "As much as you are able (you will listen and obey as far as possible)."
