حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ،، ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ: كَيْفَ يُصَلَّى بِاللَّيْلِ؟، قَالَ: " لِيُصَلِّ أَحَدُكُمْ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ، فَلْيُوتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): "O Messenger of Allah! How should the night prayer be performed?" He replied: "You should pray in sets of two rak‘ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak‘ah as witr to those two."
