حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، (١) أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا قِلَابَةَ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ: قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "، ، تَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ أَوْ بِحَضْرَمَوْتَ (١) فَتَسُوقُ النَّاسَ ". قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟، قَالَ: " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: "A fire will emerge from Hadramaut, which is a region of Syria, and it will drive the people forward." We asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do at that time?" He said: "Make the land of Syria obligatory upon yourselves (go there)."
